Nestled into Brighton’s bustling lanes, an all-day bar-café, a tribute to the way that Bombay cuts loose.
A neighbourhood crowd drops by. There’s an abundance of drinking food: Snacks, Chaats, Salads, Curries (and Dishoom faves). Local beers and DJs too. Finish up with an ice cream sandwich – a special Bombay-Brighton treat.
Wash it all down with our late-night cocktails – they pack a punch (voted ‘Best Cocktails’ at the BRAVO Awards). And for the morning after a night of revelry, a fresh Breakfast Naan will be waiting for you.

Permit Room Brighton is mostly for walk-ins – but we do hold some tables for reservations. If you’re with a big party, it’s best to book in advance (you might be spread across some close-together tables). After the kitchen has closed, come for a late-night drink and snack (walk-in or book).
Our Aunty Bar roof terrace is bookable during the warmer months (when it's not raining) – just leave us a note when making your booking and we'll do our best to save you a spot.

From DJ nights curated by our friends at Going South, to shindigs with local musicians, there’s an eclectic events mix at the Permit Room. We’re taking cues from the jam sessions at Slip-Disc and Rang Bhavan in '70s Bombay, as well as from everything Brighton’s got to offer.

Yes – but only when it’s open (during the warmer months and when it’s not raining). Speak to us and we’ll make a note on your booking if the Aunty Bar (roof terrace) is open.
We are. There is a single, small step at the front entrance, but we can provide a ramp for access. There’s also wheelchair-accessible seating and a disabled toilet on the same floor as the dining area. Just let us know anything further you might need – the team are here to help.
