Kick back outside, above Brighton’s lanes. Our roof terrace – AKA the Aunty Bar – is the perfect place to sip on cocktails (voted ‘Best Cocktails’ at the BRAVO awards). Bookable when the weather permits. Just request a spot outside when making your booking and we'll do our best make it happen.

Rooftop Private Hire
Permit Room’s rooftop – AKA the Aunty Bar – is open for private hire: parties, work-dos, any-kind-of get-together. Revel in each other’s company above Brighton’s bustling lanes. Feast on set menus full of favourites or pick and choose from the main menu. We’ll take care of everything while you sit back.
Friends, families, colleagues, dogs! Assemble – the more the merrier. Enjoy the breeze of delicious revelry. The Aunty Bar is yours.
The terrace is available for private hire for 12 – 25 guests. Bookings are available 12pm ’til late Sunday to Thursday, or 12–6pm Friday & Saturday.

Lunch and dinner Party Spreads are flooded with favourites from the All-Day menu to share. Picky-snacky-crispy savouries. Hearty-for-your-party ruby murrays. Irresistible sweet things. There’s something for everyone. Choose your mix of non-veg., veg. or vegan options when you arrive. No need to think ahead. Or order all you want from the All-Day menu.
Wet lips
Let chefs do their thing while you sink into drinks. Fizz, frozen lipsters, short and boozies. A few crisp pints from a Permit Room x Kingfisher Beer Tower (on tap, at your table). Or teetotally delicious teetotals. Pre-order drinks to make things easy. Let the good times roll.

Permit Room is mostly for walk-ins – but we do hold some tables for reservations. Our Aunty Bar roof terrace and outdoor seating is bookable during the warmer months (when it's not raining) – just leave us a note when making your booking and we'll do our best to save you a spot.
